IT Essentials II – Network Operating Systems
In this course, the student will learn the necessary skills to install, configure, and maintain Windows XP and 2000, Linux, and Unix. Labor profile The graduates are trained to develop technical support and LAN administration tasks through the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the main operating system. Besides, they have the necessary skills to use the K Desktop Environment (KDE) and the GNU Network Object Model (GNOME), which enable them to make network service configuration and basic troubleshooting. Duration The course duration is one semester with a timeframe of four hours per week. Requirements No previous knowledge required Instructors The Instructor Training program is carried out twice a year to guarantee the quality of the educational service. This material is structured in such way that the student can take self-tests, consult graphic schemes and make hypertext navigation. As a member of the Proydesa Network, they have access to documentation in electronic format, to Web Conference seminars and the exclusive Proydesa Network Job Portal, where their résumés are validated by a certified instructor and they can reach more than four hundred leader companies in the sector. Lab guides The real hands-on laboratories take up more than the 60 percent of the total timeframe. Exams Assessment exams, one written and one in a hands-on lab environment are taken in Spanish during the course. All the exams are taken in-person using the Internet and the User ID and Password. International certificationAt the end of the course the corresponding passing certificate of the Cisco Networking Academy Program will be given, backed up by the Local Academy, Fundación Proydesa and Cisco Systems. The contents of this module together with the onesof Fundamentals of Unix cover the objectives of the CompTIA Linux + exam. Together with the contents of IT Essentials I: PC hardware and Software, cover the objectives of the CompTIA Server + certification exam. The graduates of this Proydesa Network career will have the right to a discount voucher to take those certification exams.
