Labor profileThe FWL professionals carry out tasks of design, installation, management and troubleshooting of wireless LANs that implement IEEE standards. They have skills to find the most suitable wireless solution inside and outside spaces, as well as to design the necessary security policies to avoid access to intruders. The WiMax development and the growth of business spaces that brings wireless access to their clients put this course graduates in optimal conditions for their professional growth. DurationThe course duration is one semester with a frametime of four hours per week. RequirementsCompletion of the CNNA 2 or experience in the wireless network area is required. InstructorsThe Instructor Training program is carried out twice a year to guarantee the quality of the educational service. Study materialsEvery student has access to state-of-the-art online multimedia contents in Spanish through a User ID and a Password, specially developed by Cisco Systems. This material is structured in such way that the student can take self-tests, consult graphic schemes and make hypertext navigation. As a member of the Proydesa Network, they have access to documentation in electronic format, to Web Conference seminars and the exclusive Proydesa Network Job Portal, where their résumés are validated by a certified instructor and they can reach more than four hundred companies in the sector. The most important contents- Design of wireless LAN architectures in compliance with IEEE 802.11 standards. - Installation of wireless LANs with Cisco devices. - Hardware configuration and setup tests of access points, bridges and antennas. - Identification of requirements and installation of directional and omnidirectional antennas. - WLAN security implementation using WEP, Cisco LEAP, y IEEE 802.1x protocols. Lab guidesThe hands-on laboratories are a basic part of the course. They use state-of-the-art Cisco Aironet devices: Aironet 350 bridges, Aironet 1200 access point, Aironet NICs and PCMCIAs with the IEEE 802.11 standard, and a wide variety of antennas. ExamsAssessment exams, one written and one in a hands-on lab environment are taken during the course in English. All the exams are taken in-person using the Internet and the User ID and Password. CertificationAt the end of each semester, the graduate receive a certificate that he has passed issued by the Local Academy, Fundación Proydesa and Cisco Systems.
