Basic Java Programming - Sun


Besides learning the fundamental concepts of the object oriented programming, the student acquires the necessary skills to begin programming using Java variables, operators and objects.

Labor profile

The Java Programming graduates are trained to do tasks in not necessarily technical areas, such as Project Management and Development, in which Java is not the primary platform.

 The definitive impulse given by the Internet applications, and the transfer to cellular telephony and other devices such as medical equipment, placed this language among the three most requested in the market.

Duration

The course duration is one semester with a timeframe of four hours per week.

Requirements

No previous knowledge of programming required.

Instructors

The Instructor Training program is carried out twice a year to guarantee the quality of the educational service. Instructors from all the Proydesa Network come to Fundación Proydesa to prove their competences and learn new pedagogical techniques that allow them to do a successful personalized follow-up of each student.

Study material

All the study material is in Spanish.

Every student has access to state-of-the-art online multimedia contents through a User ID and a Password, specially developed by Fundación Proydesa. This material is structured in such way that the student can take self-tests, consult graphic schemes and make hypertext navigation.

As a  member of the Proydesa Network, they have access to documentation in electronic format, to Web Conference seminars and the exclusive Proydesa Network Job Portal, where their résumés are validated by a certified instructtor and they can reach more than four hundred leader companies in the sector.

Lab guides

The purpose of the exercises will be to solve challenging situations about Java programming specially designes for this purpose.

Exams

Assessment exams, one written and one in a hands-on lab environment are taken during the course, that enable the professional to take the Sun Certified Java Associate* certification.

Likewise, the acquired knowledge forms a solid basis for the Sun Certified Java Programmer* certification.

 All the exams are taken in-person using the Internet and the User ID and Password.

International certification

At the end of the module the corresponding passing certificate will be given by Sun Microsystem, the Local Academy and Fundación Proydesa.

Likewise, the graduates will have the right to a discount voucher given by Sun Microsystems and the Proydesa Network to take the certification exam.

 * It is recommended to have six month experience in Java technology before taking the certification exam.
