DBA IV: Tuning

This module provides the necessary skills to the student so he can adjust all the database parameters to reduce the waiting time, increase productivity and maximize performance. Together with the Administration Workshop II, this module covers all the contents to take the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

 Labor profile

This module's graduates are trained to work in different labor areas that have already implemented a Database policy and need to do the necessary adjustments to optimize its working.

As they are specialists in the use of tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (with the Diagnostic and Adjustment packs) and STATSPACK, they can recognize different problems and solve them in an efficient way.

They labor area is not limited to organizartions related to computing because the use of this technology is sufficiently extended to all the business and service areas of the public and private sectors.

Duration

The course is a module of one semester with a timeframe of four hours per week.

Requirements

Some knowledge and previous experience in Oracle Databases are required.

Instructors

The Instructor Training program is carried out twice a year to guarantee the quality of the educational service. Instructors from all the Proydesa Network come to Fundación Proydesa to prove their competences and learn new pedagogical techniques that allow them to do a successful personalized follow-up of each student.

All the instructors of the Proydesa Network are certified and work in key positions within leader companies in the country.

Study material

Every student has access to state-of-the-art online multimedia contents in Spanish through a User ID and a Password, specially developed by Fundación Proydesa. This material is structured in such way that the student can take self-tests, consult graphic schemes and make hypertext navigation.

To complete the in-person classes taught by the qualified instructor, an Oracle WDP Official Kit is added that has didactic material printed in Spanish, and that is compulsory for the career.

As a member of the Proydesa Network, they have access to documentation in electronic format, to Web Conference seminars and the exclusive Proydesa Network Job Portal, where their résumés are validated by a certified instructor and they can reach more than four hundred leader companies in the sector.

Lab guides

The purpose of the exercises will be to solve challenging situations about Oracle Databases specially mounted for this purpose.

Exams

Assessment exams, one written and one in a hands-on lab environment are taken during the course.
All the exams are taken in-person using the Internet and the User ID and Password.

International certification

At the end of the module, the graduate receives a certificate that he has passed issued by the Local Academy, Fundación Proydesa and Oracle.

Likewise, the student has the possibility to take the International Certification, for which Fundación Proydesa and Oracle give a 40 percent discount voucher.

Passing this exam and the Administration Workshop II module exam allow the professional to achieve the OCP Certification.
